The Seiko timepiece is a prime example of a watch that already has mountains of success under its belt. Its list of triumphs includes being named the official timer of the Olympic Games in not one but five locations, which are Tokyo , Sapporo , Barcelona , Lillihammer and Nagano . Its victory doesn't however just stop here! Due to the brands high design innovations it is also responsible for the world's first quartz watch and the world's first LCD quartz watch, which comes with a six digit display. Plus on top of this Seiko is also responsible for presenting the first intelligent analog quartz watch with alarm and timer function. So it's no wonder that this time piece is highly popular with so many men!

Other than a wedding ring, a watch is pretty much the only jewelry that a man can really pull off well and in our day and age wrist watches to men have become a must have accessory, which is why when you are in market of purchasing one you need to make sure you make the right decision, which is where Seiko can help!

Seiko time pieces originally started life under the name of Seikosha and the company has been in production since 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened his first clock shop in Tokyo . It was within this shop that his watch legacy began as he was producing pocket watches in 1895 then alarm clocks in 1899 as well as table and musical clocks in 1902. By the time 1914 came around Seikosha watches were in mass production due to the amount of demand that was placed on them and it was in 1924 that Seikosha became known as Seiko.

Since they first began production back in 1881, Seiko watches have strived and succeeded in offering us elegance, style and choice and their popularity continues to grow, even to this day. One of the main reasons for this is the amount of technology that Seiko pack into their time pieces and in 1992 they pushed the boundaries even further as this is when they introduced kinetic technology.

What kinetic technology meant for Seiko watches was they no longer required a battery charge as the watch was simply powered by the movement of a person's body. So what happens when you aren't wearing the time piece? Well basically if the watch goes unworn for three days it goes into suspended animation as a means of conserving energy. However when you come to wear the time piece again you simply give it a bit of shake to in effect wake it up.'

Production of these wrist watches are now over a million a year and they remain the wrist watch of choice by many men across the globe. They are perfect for demonstrating style and sophistication while still being top of the league when it comes to technology and craftsmanship. This allows a man to look the part while being armed with the latest gadgets, features and technology. It is the perfect combination for a wide range of occasions so why not opt for a Seiko the next time you are in the market for a watch?
